Detection of periodontopathogenic marker pathogens and determination of the interleukin-1 genotype

AID Paro Array – Sensitive detection of periodontitis and genotype determination

  • Suitable for high-throughput applications (96-well)
  • Evaluation and documentation using the AID Reader and AIDot software
  • CE IVD

The involvement of a defined bacterial flora in the etiology of periodontal diseases and implant failure has now been demonstrated by a large number of scientific studies. The most relevant pathogens are classified into complexes.

The specific and sensitive detection of periodontopathogenic marker pathogens from subgingival plaque samples enables rapid identification of patients at risk and provides important information for selecting an efficient therapy. The test is therefore used during the course of periodontal treatment to document therapeutic success and to determine the treatment endpoint.

Regular testing during recall facilitates timely detection of recurrences and monitoring of residual pockets. Finally, the result can help increase patient motivation and thus improve oral hygiene.

Furthermore, the test can provide information on the risk of implant failure before extensive prosthetic restorations.

The strength of the individual immune response can affect the extent of periodontitis-related tissue destruction. This immune response, and therefore susceptibility to bacterial infection, is partly determined by the host genotype.

The AID Paro DNA Array enables sensitive detection of the most important periodontitis marker pathogens and genotype determination within a favorable time and cost framework.
